Empowering Women Across India with Knowledge in Their Native Languages

Audiopedia Access Point

India’s linguistic diversity is vast, with over 22 official languages and thousands of dialects spoken across the country. With Audiopedia Bharat, our mission is to empower women in underserved communities by providing accessible, audio-based knowledge about health, nutrition, child care and more in their native languages.

Audiopedia is an initiative to democratize knowledge and reach the last mile, ensuring every woman, regardless of literacy or language barriers, has access to life-changing information. Using innovative AI technologies like Machine Translation and Text-to-Speech, we localize vital content to make it relevant and culturally appropriate for diverse communities.

This initiative is implemented in collaboration with key partners including the project "FAIR Forward - Artificial Intelligence for All" implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Digital India Bhashini Division of the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc).
